CHRISSY CHARBONEAU | Fine Art
Nature is my solace and my primary inspiration.
My acrylic and watercolor landscape paintings seek to capture these moments of beauty and stillness found in the wilder places I visit. I use photographs taken while outdoors - usually hiking, paddling, or walking, as reference.
Capturing a sense of place and point in time has always been an important theme in my mind as I make art. In my past work I’ve explored ideas of place using maps and collage in a much more abstract sense, but more recently, I’ve become more interested in using “reality” and landscape as a starting point and exploring different ways to convey and expand on that via brushstroke.
